Who We Are

The Sydney Prayer Breakfast is an annual prayer gathering of Christians from all denominations who work or live in the Sydney CBD.

The Sydney Prayer Breakfast is an annual feature of the Sydney Calendar. The organising body is the Sydney Prayer Breakfast Limited.

We seek to:

  • call on our Heavenly Father for his mercy and blessing upon the people of the city;
  • encourage believers in their trust and obedience to Jesus Christ; and
  • be a light to our fellow workers and neighbours in the city.

Neville Cox

Chairman

Neville has had many years experience as a senior executive in the banking and finance industry. He is currently a director of several companies in the banking, superannuation and technology industries as well as the not-for-profit sector.
He is passionate about developing leaders and mentors senior business executives and leaders in Christian ministry.

Wendy Simpson

Wendy Simpson is Executive Chairman of Westray Engineering, a global precision metal manufacturing company with operations in China, Thailand and Australia. She is also a director of an Australian Property Development company.
Prior to this she was Senior Vice President, Alcatel Asia Pacific, based in Shanghai and she has also held senior leadership positions in TNT Airfreight, QBE Insurance and BHP.
Wendy has been a three time finalist in the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Awards and a finalist in the Shanghai Businesswoman of the Year Awards.
She has been a foundation director of a number of community organisations including the Australian Council of Businesswomen, the International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry and “Create Foundation” a not- for- profit for young people in care.
She and her husband Geoff live in Sydney and have a long history of caring for disadvantaged young people. They are part of Christian City Church, Darlinghurst.

Fred Chilton

Fred Chilton is a Special Counsel with Toomey Pegg Lawyers in Sydney.  He is also Chairman of the Bush Church Aid Society, a member of the Northern Region Council of the Diocese of Sydney and a Synod representative for St Stephen’s Willoughby which he and his wife attend.  He assisted on a pro-bono basis in the establishment in the Centre for Public Christianity and Christian Surfers International.  He has five adult children, four daughters-in-law and nine grandchildren.  Various family members are involved in lay leadership in different churches in Sydney, Perth and Palmerston North and New Zealand.

Karl Faase

Karl Faase is a well known Australian Christian communicator, media presenter, leader and social commentator. He is the CEO of Olive Tree Media, the organisation through which he produces programs of excellence for Christian media and local church use internationally.
Karl is in demand across Australia as a speaker, with a special interest in encouragement & motivation, leadership, ministry development and communicating to those exploring faith. Karl is regularly called upon as a Christian spokesperson and commentator on a variety of social issues. He is passionate about reclaiming the Christian Gospel as word as well as deed.
With over 20 years of involvement in media, Karl is one of Australia’s most experienced Christian radio and television presenters, with his programs broadcast and distributed in the USA, UK, Canada, France, Germany and New Zealand.
Olive Tree Media’s latest production is the documentary series, Jesus the Game Changer, released in 2016. This timely television and DVD series looks at how the life and teaching of Jesus changed the world and why it matters. Topics covered in its ten episodes include equality, forgiveness, care, women & children, leadership, education and health, and others. Jesus the Game Changer was filmed in the USA, UK, Australia, India and Singapore where Karl interviewed over 30 authors, speakers, historians and academics.
Their previous documentary includes Towards Belief, a 10 part documentary DVD/TV series which looks at the belief blockers to faith in western countries. The Daily Nudge is one of Australia’s best-known and most widely used one-minute spots on Christian radio internationally with over 800 in circulation.

Anna Burke

Anna is the Marketing and Operations Director for Hotel Marketplace, a property start-up. Anna previously worked as the Director of Community Engagement at Shore; Fundraising Director at the Crusader Union of Australia; and Brand Manager at Kimberly-Clark Australia. She attends The Bridge Church in Kirribilli.
